Gingham Style

Warmer weather has us feeling preppy and picnicky. We have spotted a lot of gingham around the office lately. We’re taking a look back at some great moments in gingham, as well as showcasing a few of our favorite, checkered products.

Great Moments in Gingham

The shoes may get all the press, but whether it was shot in subdued sepia or brilliant technicolor, the classic print of Dorothy’s gingham dress looks picture perfect. (You better start pinching those pennies if you want the original, though.) [Read more...]

In Celebration and Support of Boston

If you’re looking for a bold way to show your support for Boston, Brendan Buckley has created pins that simply state, “Boston’s Not Afraid of You.” All proceeds go directly to The One Fund.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” —Martin Luther King, Jr.

In the wake of what happened at the Boston Marathon, our hearts, though grieved, are filled with hope as we continue to see beautiful things rise above the tragedy. Incredible stories of love, compassion, and community continue to shine like rays of light through the darkness. In addition to our thoughts and prayers, we offer a celebration of Boston and a few of its talented artists in hopes that it will add to the support of that great city and her people.

Boston, we love you!

Off We Go Into the Wild Blue Yonder

Break out your leather bomber and aviators because 1940’s airplane chic is back in a big way.

Stainless steel, rivets, leather, and streamlined shapes characterize these designs inspired by nostalgia for World War II-era aviation paired with art-deco influence.

Twu Wuv

Inconceivable! Somehow we missed the 25th anniversary of our favorite late-80s classic, The Princess Bride, a couple of weeks ago. Here are a few ways, both subtle and overt, that you can pay homage to one of the most quotable movies of all time.

“Farmboy, fetch me that pitcher.”

Here’s a terra-cotta pitcher for the modern princess. The graphic treatment of the glaze lends a more contemporary edge to the classic vessel.

“I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.”

Wine from Alamo Drafthouse’s “The Bottle of Wits” collection is a must for any The Princess Bride viewing party. We recommend pairing it with some peanuts.

“I’m not saying I’d like to build a summer home here, but the trees are actually quite lovely.”

Light a little fire-swamp flame atop these twig candles. Display them in containers of sand, and you’ll have two of the dangers of the fire-swamp. As for the R.O.U.S.’s, we don’t think they exist.
