Fairest of them All

It’s the movie that launched an empire—Snow White turns 75 this year, and we’re celebrating the first full-length animated Disney film with a few fun product picks that pay homage to this landmark film.

“Magic  mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?”
This twirly onyx-black mirror has a bit of a dark magic feel.

Spelling Out Art

As a graphic designer, June Corley always enjoyed “playing with type.” Now as a sculpture artist, June continues her playing, but instead of using the meanings that letters symbolize to compose her designs, she uses the forms of the letters themselves to create unique assemblages. Five years ago, she began using her extensive collection of vintage letters and typography to create her artwork full time. The whimsical pieces bring together a vast array of letters and discarded found objects into playful faces and animals. The best and most playful of her pieces happen organically. “When a sculpture is successful,
it’s usually because I’ve managed to stay out of the way,” June says.

Masterful Ceilings

This month marks the 500th (wow!) anniversary of Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel painting. We’re not suggesting that you spend the next few years lying on top of a scaffolding painting frescos on your ceiling, but we’ve rounded up a few fun “fifth-wall” inspirations for your home.

Boo!

Our staff here at fresh style works alongside the professionals from Hoffman Media’s other titles, and we have to admit, it’s pretty awesome spending everyday in this building full of creative people! On any given day, we may sample a pie from the test kitchen, roll up our sleeves and do some crafting for a photo shoot, and sit down with an artist to talk about the inspiration for her work. Halloween is an especially creative day around here, though! Take a look at some of the super-inventive costumes that Hoffman Media staffers sported this Halloween.
